icdbd-QA/0038: Reciting Dua Yunus 1,25,000 times

we know that Dua Yunus is a an important  supplication to seek Allah’s help in getting out of trouble. Many people even make arrangements to sit together for a day or part thereof so several people can read it to make 125,000 times. How correct this practice is? If this is bida’h, then what is the correct way to ask Allah through dua Yunus?

Please advise.

It is proven by authentic hadith that this dua helps get out of trouble. But the particular format and the number need evidence. So it is not allowed for anyone to say this dua this particular number of times unless he finds evidence, or else it will be bidah.

So the way of saying this dua is the same as saying any other dua and nothing special can be done without evidence.
