If any Muslim sends food at mid of Shaban or at the death anniversary of his relative, or in other words at any innovated rituals, should we accept it or reject it? If my family members accept it without me knowing then is it allowed to eat from that?

Wa ‘Alaikumussalaam,
Praise be to Allah.
We should NOT accept the food, rather we should reject it. However, we should not be harsh in rejecting the food – we should politely try to make people understand, why are we doing it.
If our family members accept it without our knowledge, we should give away the food to someone (say some needy/poor person) who does not know the origin of the food, the purpose behind preparing it or the reasons why it should be avoided
